Lexomancer is a word-based puzzle battle game where spells are cast by forming words; in this world, words have power.
You play a young arcanist who fights strange creatures born from fragments of a shattered magical lexicon. Each battle challenges you to build high-scoring words from a grid of letters, then unleash them as spells to defeat your enemies. Longer, rarer, or more clever words hit harder — but choosing the right kind of word matters just as much as raw score.
Enemies have strengths, weaknesses, and attack patterns of their own, pushing you to think strategically about which words you use, not just how many points they’re worth.
Word-Driven Combat
Form words from a grid of letters to cast spells. Damage is based on classic word-game scoring, enhanced by elemental affinities like Fire, Ice, Nature, and Arcane.
Strategic Enemies
Opponents don’t spell words themselves — instead, they use distinct move sets and behaviors. Learning their patterns and exploiting their vulnerabilities is key to survival.
Elemental Word Types
Certain enemies resist or take extra damage from specific kinds of words. A fiery creature might shrug off heat-related terms, but crumble when struck by cold or water-themed language.
Choose Your Path
Progress through themed “chapters” of a magical book, each focused on different elements and ideas. Zones can be tackled in different orders, and your choices subtly shape the challenges ahead — even in the final battle.
Grow Your Lexomancy
Unlock abilities that enhance specific word types or play styles. Specialize in arcane terms, favor short aggressive words, or master long, powerful vocabulary.
Designed for Replayability
With multiple playable characters, branching progression, and varied enemy encounters, no two runs play exactly the same.
